TokaiMTB is a constituted representative body and publicly funded non-profit organization. The group subscribes to the guiding best practices of the International Mountain Bike Association (IMBA) through the African IMBA representative body and non-profit company, Amarider.

As one of the founding members of the Table Mountain Mountain Bike forum, our mandate is to assist SANParks with mountain bike activity management in the Table Mountain National Park to help provide the recreational users with a safe and well-managed mountain bike trail facility.

Members of TokaiMTB have been active in a voluntary capacity since the official introduction of mountain biking on this mountain since 1995. The group is in possession of a SANParks permit to upgrade and maintain mountain bike trails within the Table Mountain National Park, as well as host monthly community volunteer programmes in Tokai. We operate from Tokai which is located in the central section of this National Park.

TokaiMTB is constantly expanding into other areas where SANParks requires assistance and believes firmly that a good working relationship is vital to the well-being of both the environment and user recreational needs.
